Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], August 6 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in the Forace Speciality Chemical Pvt Ltd company located in the industrial area of Haridwar on Tuesday. Fire personnel rushed to the spot after getting information about the fire that had been raging in the factory.
Fire personnel and the Haridwar police team were present at the spot. The workers present in the factory were evacuated safely.
The fire officer, CFO Abhinav Tyagi, who was present at the spot, said, “As far as we have come to know till now, this is a polymer manufacturing chemical factory. There are factories around this factory too, which probably manufacture polymers and plastics. The reasons for the fire will be known after the fire is under control.”
He further said, “Currently, we have called for all the vehicles of Haridwar district and we have also called for Rishikesh, Dehradun Lal Tappar and our industry fire tenders. Here, 50 to 60 percent of the fire has been controlled and 40 percent of the of the work is still left. When our fire is 100 percent extinguished, only then will we be able to find out the cause of the fire. Several thousand kilos of chemicals were stored in this factory. Our team has done a very good job. We reached it on time; otherwise, there was so much chemical here that about 10-15 factories around it could have been destroyed.”.
“That is why the fire brigade team has done a very good job. When we came to the company, 30 to 40 people were trapped inside. We have safely evacuated them. We have evacuated all the houses next to the factory. Right now, 40% of the work is left on the spot. A nearby factory was also engulfed by fire, but that too has been controlled by the fire brigade officials,” Abhinav Kumar added. (ANI)
