Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], December 20 (ANI): BJP Leader Keya Ghosh, on Friday, commented on Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra’s remarks that Lord Ram was a Muslim, not Hindu, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party doesn’t need to learn about Hinduism or Hindutva from him.
Speaking to ANI, Ghosh said, “Mamata Banerjee’s government and her MLAs understand that Muslim votes are shifting away from them. That’s why they have adopted this tactic of appeasement by insulting Hindutva and Lord Rama.”
Calling TMC MLA’s statement an election tactic, Keya Ghosh said, “For elections, they will stoop to any level, and Madan Mitra’s statement is the biggest example of this.”
Further in her statement, she questioned TMC MP Dola Sen about the Trinamool Congress’s role in the freedom struggle and reiterated the BJP founders’ relentless efforts in the independence movement.
In response to the opposition’s protest against the recently passed VB-G RAM-G Bill in Parliament, Ghosh said the bill’s name is merely an acronym, adding that the name of Lord Ram hurts the opposition party. She stated that Mahatma Gandhi is an ideology, dismissing allegations over the renaming of MGNREGA.
“TMC has a problem with this bill because they can no longer use their job card and fool the labourers, as the legislation provides 125 days of labour and requires geo-tagging,” Ghosh said.
“TMC has had issues with everything that is for the welfare of the underprivileged, whether it is demonetisation, CAA, or VB-G RAM-G Bill,” she added.
Blaming West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the state’s underdevelopment, Keya Ghosh said the CM had promised double the number of jobs in 2021, but now people are unemployed.
Citing the gang rape of a tribal woman in West Bengal, Ghosh slammed Mamata Banerjee for the lack of women’s security in the state, calling it “a government for rapists.” (ANI)
