Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 26 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extended greetings on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami and performed ‘Gau-Seva’ at Cow-Shed located inside the CM’s residence in Bhopal on Monday.

CM Yadav told ANI, “On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, I extend my greetings to the people of the entire state and the countrymen. May this Janmashtami, based on auspicious dates, bring only joy to all of us in life… The entire life of Lord Krishna is exemplary for us. Don’t be afraid of anyone in life, always follow the path of religion, be brave and be kind.”
“Greetings to everyone on the holy festival of devotion and joy, Shri Krishna Janmashtami. I pray that may the blessings of Lord Krishna remain upon everyone and a gradual increase in happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life,” the CM wrote on X.
On Sunday, CM Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government has decided to develop the religious places associated with Lord Krishna in the state as pilgrimage sites.
“On the occasion of Janmashtami, our government has decided that religious places associated with Lord Krishna in the state will be developed as pilgrimage sites. In the series, I came to Amjhera in the Dhar district, around 5000 years ago, Lord Krishna had a battle with Rukmini’s brother Rukmi here. It is a historic place and our government has decided to make this place a pilgrimage site,” CM said.
He further added, “We have pushed our work forward especially the operation of Gaushalas, its social responsibility and from animal husbandry to milk production in the state. In the coming days, our government will also announce a bonus on milk production.”
Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated today on August 26 across the country. To celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna, devotees observe fast and decorate temples and their homes, with flowers, diyas and lights.
The occasion is particularly grand in Mathura and Vrindavan, where it is believed that Krishna spent his youth and childhood.
As per the Hindu calendar, Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, was born on the eighth day of the month of Bhadra (Bhado). The day mostly falls in the months of August or September as per the Western calendar. (ANI)
