Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 21 (ANI): In a shocking incident, a total of 47 cattle, including calves were stolen from a Gaushala located in the outskirts of Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal, a police officer said on Saturday.
The Gaushala is located in Runaha village, under the jurisdiction of Nazirabad police station around 70 kilometres away from the district headquarters. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police began a search and recovered the cows though efforts to nab the accused are underway, the police said.
“A Gaushala is located in Runaha village under Nazirabad police station in the district and no people were there on September 18, they might have been busy in Ganesh idol immersion or other work. On that day, during the night, 47 cattle, including calves, were stolen by some unknown persons. The matter came to light on the following day, when the caretaker of Gaushala went to give fodder and water to cattle,” said Pramod Kumar Sinha, Superintendent of Police (SP, rural), Bhopal.
After that, the caretaker of the Gaushala approached the police station and filed a complaint. Acting on it, the police registered a case, formed teams and began the search in the area. Thereafter, the police team successfully recovered all the cattle from a nearby forest area, the officer said.
“Based on the CCTV footage, the police have identified the accused and the team began searching and we will arrest them soon. When we checked the previous crime records with the name of the accused identified, it came to light that the accused used to steal animals and sell them,” SP Sinha said.
“It is not an inter-religion matter and further investigation into the matter is underway,” the Police official concluded. (ANI)
