Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 14 (ANI): Commemorating 79th Independence Day, the Har Ghar Tiranga- Patriotic Film Festival was recently organised across the country.
The three-day festival was conducted by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. It ran from August 11-13, 2025.
According to NFDC MD Prakash Magdum, the festival’s primary objective was to inspire the younger generation by showing them the films which highlight the bravery of our freedom fighters.
“Many patriotic films were showcased during the three-day festival, including old classics, new releases, feature films, and documentaries. The primary goal of organising this festival was to highlight the sacrifices of our soldiers and freedom fighters, and to inspire the younger generation with their stories of courage and dedication,” Prakash Magdum told ANI.
Prakash Magdum described cinema as a powerful tool for educating people about our nation’s history and values.
“Cinema is a very powerful medium. And such stories of our freedom fighters, which have been shown on screen, I feel that it brings a larger-than-life to the screen. So, it is a very powerful medium to reach people. So, such countless stories, which are important to know, not only to our present generation, but also to our young children. Cinema is very influential,” he added.
The festival is part of the broader Har Ghar Tiranga campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which seeks to deepen every citizen’s emotional connection with the National Flag and instil a renewed sense of unity and patriotism. (ANI)
