New Delhi [India], January 9 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha on Thursday launched an attack on the opposition INDIA alliance, claiming it lacks unity and vision for the country, and said that the alliance cannot see beyond one family.
Speaking to ANI, JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha said, “The INDIA alliance adopted a grand name, something that even Nitish Kumar opposed, but there was always a lack of unity within it. The people of the INDIA alliance cannot see beyond one family.”
“Nitish Kumar tried a lot but there was no talk about what their vision or policy was for the country. This was a divided alliance since the Lok Sabha elections. I don’t think they even had a meeting after the Lok Sabha polls. When we (JDU) separated from this alliance, then we saw what its result was going to be,” said Jha.
Earlier on January 5, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar emphasized his government’s commitment to women’s empowerment through initiatives like the ‘Jeevika Didi’ scheme, asserting that his administration has worked for the welfare of all communities.
Speaking to the media, CM Nitish took a veiled dig at the opposition and said that he mistakenly gone with them but now he is with his old friends.
“What was the condition of women earlier? Since we started the ‘Jeevika Didi’ scheme – women are happy, and whenever they need help, they are given help…I had mistakenly gone with them (opposition), but now I am with my old friends. Did they (Opposition) do any work for women? We have worked for everyone – be it Hindus, Muslims, upper castes, backward, Dalits or women. People should remember this,” he said.
On January 4, Nitish Kumar took a dig at the regime of the Lalu Prasad Yadav-led government, saying that before the Janata Dal (United)-led government was formed in 2005, ‘Bihar ki halat kaafi kharab thi.’
Earlier, Union Minister and JDU leader Lallan Singh had reacted to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s statement that alliance doors are always open for CM Nitish Kumar.
Reacting to the statement, Lallan Singh affirmed that his party is with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
“We are with the NDA and with full firmness. I cannot react to what people say–there is freedom of expression; people can say whatever they want, Singh told media persons. This came following Lalu Prasad Yadav’s statement saying that the opposition alliance doors are always open for CM Nitish Kumar.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that RJD supremo is making such statements out of ‘fear.’ “Nitish Kumar knows Lalu Prasad Yadav inside out. Lalu Prasad Yadav is just scared.”
Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan said, “If followers of Gandhi detach themselves from the followers of Godse, then we are with them.” (ANI)
