New Delhi [India], September 20 (ANI): A twenty-two-year-old man was nabbed for allegedly storing large quantities of illegal fireworks without a valid license in a raid that was conducted at Anand Parbat premises in the national capital, said police on Friday.
According to Delhi Police, an information was received by Special staff of Central district on September 16 about storage of illegal fireworks here.
Immediately, the police swung into action and raided the Than Singh Nagar, Anand Parbat area after confirming suspicious activities and caught one person.
Upon questioning, he disclosed his name and address as Jatin Agarwal, resident of Than Singh Nagar, Anand Parbat, Delhi.
On inspecting the warehouse, a large quantity of illegal fireworks was found stored in cardboard boxes. When interrogated about the license for storing such explosives, accused Jatin Agarwal admitted that he neither possessed a valid license nor applied for one.
Upon checking, forty seven different types of fireworks were found. The total weight of the illegal fireworks amounted to 995.410 Kg. He also revealed that he had brought the fireworks from Pataudi, Haryana, one week earlier, to sell during festival season. Accordingly, accused Jatin Agarwal was arrested for the crime. (ANI)
