New Delhi [India], July 30 (ANI): Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena, along with Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, inaugurated 320 new electric buses on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media after the event, LG Saxena said, “Almost 320 buses are being launched, and they will provide relief to the public of Delhi. We are planning to add more buses. To bring down the pollution level in Delhi, public transport has to be increased, and this is a step in that direction.”

Regarding the Old Rajinder Nagar incident, where three UPSC aspirants lost their lives, LG Saxena stated, “It is a very sad incident. Proper action will be taken.”
In a post on X, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister said, “With this addition, the total number of electric buses in Delhi has now reached 1,970. This is the highest number of electric buses compared to any city in the entire country. Now a total of 7,683 buses are on the roads in Delhi, serving the people of Delhi.”
Gahlot added, “The Kejriwal government is committed to providing world-class, pollution-free, smooth transport services to the people of Delhi.”
Three students died after the basement of a building housing a coaching centre in Delhi’s Old Rajendra Nagar was flooded following rains on Saturday evening. The Delhi Police have arrested the owner and coordinator of the coaching centre in connection with the incident, charging them with culpable homicide, among other offences. (ANI)
