Mahasamund (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 22 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday slammed Congress for calling the biggest-ever encounter of 29 Naxalites in Kanker district in the state as a “fake operation.”
“The naxal incident that happened a few days back, was one of the biggest naxal encounters that happened. Our forces killed 29 naxals out of which two had a bounty of 20 lakh on their head. While one woman naxal is carrying a bounty of 10 lakhs. And for this, we salute the bravery of security forces. Congress always raises a question. Congress raised questions when PM Modi executed the surgical strike and air strike… They call it a fake operation,” said Sai.
He was interacting with reporters after an election rally in Mahasamund. The Chhattisgarh CM said that their candidates will register a big win and go to Delhi as an MP
“The workers and voters (of the BJP) are in full enthusiasm. Our candidate will register a big win and go to Delhi as an MP… Congress can clearly witness its failure. A lot of Congress people have joined the BJP,” said Sai.
Earlier, former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel drew flak for alleged ‘fake encounters’ under the BJP regime in the wake of the Kanker encounter on Tuesday.
BJP has filed Roop Kumari Choudhary from the Mahasamund Lok Sabha seat while Tamradhwaj Sahu is contesting from Congress. Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) has given ticket to Mohd Fareed Kureshi.
The Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled to vote on 26th April 2024, with the Election Commission announcing results on June 4. (ANI)
