Bastar (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 12 (ANI): The Saras Mela, organised by the Bastar administration, was inaugurated in Jagdalpur, on Saturday.
The mela, which is expected to witness the participation of various state departments, will run until October 20.
Highlighting the significance of the event, State Minister Kedar Kashyap said, “Today, Saras Mela has been organised here through the district administration and it has been inaugurated today and will continue till October 20. And in this, apart from Chhattisgarh, people from other states have also come, and many groups of people have come. And different departments are being displayed here. Food departments are being displayed.”
“People who come to our Dussehra festival will benefit from it. What is the intention of the government that all the schemes of the government that are being implemented at the ground level should benefit everyone? And they can make their lives strong by getting information through the stall of the department,” he added.
Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev also expressed his appreciation for the event and its connection to the local Dussehra festival.
“Many congratulations to the people of Chhattisgarh through you as far as my voice is reaching them. Bastar Dussehra is unique and wonderful and this Dussehra which lasts for 75 days passes through various events. There are different methods of worship and Bastar Dussehra is celebrated by connecting different communities. Chariots are set up,” he said.
“Today it is a matter of great joy that with the inspiration of the respected minister, here, which had been a desire for the last many years in Bastar, the welfare schemes of our respected Chief Minister, the schemes of the Central Government and the State Government and which are going smoothly and systematically till the bottom, a stall of Saras Mela, an exhibition of this has been set up,” he added.
The Saras Mela provides a platform for citizens to learn about public welfare programs and get involved in the government’s efforts to improve their well-being. (ANI)
