Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 2 (ANI): Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar slammed BJP’s padayatra over the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam and said that they are “trying to make an issue out of a non-issue.”
“Congress wants to ask them what they have done in their tenure. It was the most scandalous government BJP ever had. They are doing padayatra for nothing, they are trying to make an issue out of a non-issue,” Shivakumar said.
The Karnataka Cabinet earlier on Thursday resolved to advise Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot to withdraw the show cause issued to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the alleged MUDA scam.
The Karnataka Governor issued a show-cause notice to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on July 27.
Responding to the show cause notice, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that details have already been given by the Cabinet to withdraw and reject the complaint.
“The details have already been given by the council of the minister after the decision has been taken advising the governor to withdraw the show cause notice served to me and to reject the complaint filed by TJ Abraham,” the Chief Minister said.
The BJP has proposed to take out a seven-day ‘padayatra’ from August 3 against the alleged wrong-doings of the Siddaramiah government.
Earlier, a complaint was filed by social activist Snehamayi Krishna against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and nine others for allegedly forging documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority.
The complaint alleges wrongdoing by Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathy, his brother-in-law Malikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, who claimed to be a landowner, and his family. It was further alleged that MUDA created fake documents and obtained plots worth crores of rupees. Snehamayi Krishna has raised several questions in his complaint. (ANI)
