Patna (Bihar) [India], September 23 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expedite the construction of Ram-Janaki Marg between Ayodhya and Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, located in Sitamarhi district and to provide a trVande Bharat ain between the two holy cities. He stated that the infrastructure and train service would benefit pilgrims travelling from Ayodhya to Punoura Dham.
In a post on X, Nitish Kumar said, “Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been requested through a letter to provide road and rail connectivity to Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, located in Sitamarhi district. In the letter, it has been requested to complete the construction work of Ram-Janaki Marg from Ayodhya to Sitamarhi district being built by the Government of India soon and to give appropriate instructions to the concerned ministries for the operation of a Vande Bharat train between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi.”
He further said that this would greatly facilitate the devotees to visit Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, along with Ayodhya.
Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) is a key ally of the NDA government in the Centre.
Maa Janaki Janmabhoomi Temple is also known as Punaura Dham in Punaura village of Sitamarhi district of Bihar. It is believed that Goddess Sita was born at this place.
During the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya people associated with Punaura Dham brought gifts for Lord Ram.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Lord Ram was held on January 22, with the main rituals performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The idol of Ram Lalla was unveiled after the rituals. (ANI)
