Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 9 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took a potshot at the intense battle between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress ahead of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections on Thursday, saying both the parties were fooling the public.
“We have been saying since the time of Lok Sabha elections that ultimately the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are fooling the public. Slowly things are revealed and Congress is running away from the AAP. The Aam Aadmi Party is also accusing the Congress. The BJP was at the front then and now as well. The BJP neither cared about their (AAP and Congress) alliance back then (during LS polls) nor now,” CM Yadav told reporters.
“Slowly, the condition of AAP is going to be very bad, because it has taken the support of the Congress party. The Congress has a past that it drowns those whom it joins with. The Congress party does not do good to anyone,” the CM added.
Meanwhile, reacting to Congress’s proposed program at Mhow on January 26, the CM said that they never considered Mhow as BR Ambedkar’s birthplace during the rule of the Congress. Now, they are remembering the place when the BJP developed it as a Tirth spot.
“During the rule of Congress, they never never considered Mhow as the birthplace of Ambedkar and they never extended help here. When the BJP developed it as a tirth spot, so now they are remembering it. The Congress always insulted Ambedkar during his lifetime. They did not let him win any election…Nehru worked to defeat him… Nehru gave Padma Bhushan to the person who won the election against Ambedkar. The Congress embarrassed Ambedkar at every step. The Congress should wash away its sins first,” the CM said.
The Delhi assembly polls will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
The last date for filing nominations is January 17. The date for scrutiny of nominations is January 18 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 20.
The Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat. In contrast, the AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats while the BJP got only eight seats.(ANI)
