Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 13 (ANI): Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the country, Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Saturday lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that their leaders are not discussing what they did in ten years.
Slamming the BJP further, he said, “Their election campaign is mostly focused on emotional issues, religion, and temple-mosque issues, rather than the ground issues.”
He further blamed Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai led Chhattisgarh government for increased crime in the state and said, “Crime has increased in the state in the past 4 months after the formation of the current BJP government.”
He asserted, “Congress has always been strong in Bastar. We will perform well in all 11 seats of Chhattisgarh.”
Earlier in the day, while addressing a public rally in Chhattisgarh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh slammed the INDIA bloc over Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Misa Bharti’s statement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be put behind bars if the Opposition alliance comes to power.
Hitting out at the Opposition, Rajnath Singh said that since the INDIA bloc knows they won’t come to power, they are making statements that do not make any sense.
“INDI alliance leaders are already in jail, and they talk about putting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in jail,” the Defence Minister said.
“I know Modi ji he doesn’t live for himself, he lives for the country. The opposition knows that they are not going to form a government and that’s why their statements do not make any sense,” he added.
Elections to the 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh will be held in three phases on April 19, and May 7, and votes will be counted on June 4.
The general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19, with counting to be held on June 4. (ANI)
