Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], November 11 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing affection towards Uttarakhand by emphasising the need to preserve all the dialects and traditions of the state.
CM Dhami said that the Prime Minister has emphasized the preservation of all the dialects of Uttarakhand including Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari, as well as appealed to the migrants to maintain ties with their village and preserve their traditional style Tibari houses.
The Chief Minister said that the state government will move forward by considering the nine requests of the Prime Minister as the basic mantra of development.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi made nine requests public about Uttarakhand in his address on State Foundation Day, out of which five requests were addressed to the people of Uttarakhand, while four requests were addressed to the tourists and pilgrims coming here,” CM Dhami said.
CM Dhami said that now the Uttarakhand government is going to make policies based on the Prime Minister’s requests.
“It is clear from this that the Prime Minister has a special affection for Uttarakhand in his heart, so the government will work on all the requests of the Prime Minister through public cooperation,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the government is already giving special incentives for the production of regional dialect films for the preservation of dialect languages. He said that to promote folk culture, the government is providing assistance to various fairs, Igas and Harela festivals are now being celebrated with great pomp.
“Similarly, the government is encouraging people to register their traditional tibari houses in homestays. To strengthen the attachment of migrants to Uttarakhand, the government has also started organizing the Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammelan from this year. Now all these programs will gain further momentum with the address of the Prime Minister,” he said.
Dhami said that PM Modi has also appealed to plant trees under the name of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
“After the Prime Minister’s appeal, the state government will give more impetus to this campaign, just now plantation was done on a large scale on Harela festival in Sawan, due to which the green cover in Uttarakhand is expected to increase. Similarly, the government will launch a comprehensive campaign in order to maintain the cleanliness and purity of natural water in Uttarakhand in line with the Prime Minister’s appeal. For this, the streams, naulas, and small rivers of Uttarakhand will be specially protected,” he said.
Dhami said that the Prime Minister has also warned tourists about the dangers of single-use plastic in the mountains.
“The state government has already made solid arrangements for plastic waste disposal in the four Dhams, along with this, the effort to return plastic waste through QR code on the Yatra route is also bearing fruit, after the Prime Minister’s appeal, there will be awareness among tourists about this. Similarly, as per the Prime Minister’s request, stalls of women’s self-help groups are being set up on the Yatra route so that tourists can buy more and more local products,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that he has appealed to the travellers to follow the traffic rules for safe traffic in the mountains, and also asked them to take care of the sanctity of the Dhams, it is expected that the dignity of the Dhams will remain intact.
Earlier on Saturday on the occasion of Uttarakhand Foundation Day, CM Dhami extended his greetings and wishes to the people of the state. He said that the state has created a special identity by setting new dimensions of progress in the last 24 years. (ANI)
