Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 20 (ANI): The Managing Director of Pitkul on Sunday presented a dividend cheque of Rs 11 crore to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, according to a press release.
Chief Minister Dhami emphasised that to transform Uttarakhand into an energy state, power corporations must collaborate with full diligence. He reiterated that the core vision behind the creation of Uttarakhand was to establish it as an energy state.
He further stated that the state government is continuously working in the field of energy and alternative energy. The aim is to produce sufficient energy within Uttarakhand to meet the state’s demand in the next five years. Rapid progress is being made to ensure the state’s self-reliance in energy.
The Chief Minister also directed Pitkul officials to accelerate the development of the five new substations, the foundation stones of which were laid in September 2024, the release added.
Pitkul’s Managing Director, P.C. Dhyani, noted that under the Chief Minister’s guidance, the company achieved a profit of Rs 141.67 crore in the 2023-24 financial year, compared to Rs 26.99 crore in 2022-23.
Over the last three years, a dividend of Rs 5 crore has been issued annually to the Uttarakhand government. He added that various projects are being implemented under the Chief Minister’s leadership.
Currently, Pitkul’s transmission availability stands at 99.70 percent, exceeding the national standard of 98 percent. As a result, electricity consumers are benefiting from one-third of the incentive amount received by Pitkul, which is directly passed on as a discount in electricity tariffs, the release said. (ANI)
