New Delhi [India], October 2 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday attended a voluntary blood donation campaign organised by the Maharajganja Bazar Fish Traders Association on the occasion of Mahalaya, and said that it was a heartwarming experience to witness the selflessness of the people who came forward to donate blood.
“On the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya, attended a voluntary blood donation camp organised by the Maharajganja Bazar Fish Traders Association. It was a heartwarming experience to witness the selflessness of the people who came forward to donate blood. I encourage and support these generous individuals, whose noble act of giving will undoubtedly save lives,” Tripura CM posted on X.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Chief Minister attended a blood donation camp and event organised to commemorate National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.
“There’s no alternative to blood donation for saving lives. Today, we celebrate National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, which marks the birthday of renowned physician Professor Dr. Jai Gopal Jolly, known as the father of Transfusion Medicine in India. Attended a blood donation camp and event organized to commemorate this day, spreading awareness about the immense importance of blood donation. Also honored various organizations for setting examples in blood donation,” the CM posted on X on Tuesday.
Earlier on Friday, CM Saha attended two blood donation camps, one at the Vivekananda Biyamagar on Gangail Road, and the other in the Ramnagar area organised on the occasion of the inauguration of the seven Ramnagar Mandal office.
The event commemorated the Prime Minister’s birthday, which was on September 17, and emphasised the critical role of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. The camp received an overwhelming response from the community, showcasing solidarity and support for this noble cause.
On September 18, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday, a mega blood donation camp was organised by the Maharani Tulsibati Welfare Trust at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Yuba Abas in Agartala.
CM Saha also participated in a blood donation camp organised in celebration of PM Modi’s birthday by the Bharatiya Janata Party Mandal Committee of Banamalipur at the Nazrul Kalakshetra Auditorium in the city.
He also appreciated PM Modi’s initiatives for improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure, urging attendees to support these programmes to drive progress in the region. (ANI)
