Bathinda (Punjab), September 25, (ANI): In a unique initiative, free education is being provided to underprivileged children by Goodwill Mobile School of Bathinda, which is built on a trolley.
This new approach is helpful for poor and underprivileged students who can’t go to school to study. The school operates on trolleys and reaches remote areas of Bath.
Retired Electrical Engineer from the Railways, K K Garg, says, “When I used to travel in train, I used to see many innocent and needy children of poor families who were deprived of education. I decided that after retirement I will work to educate these children.
“After this, I became a part of Goodwill Society and started Goodwill Mobile School, which is going to different slums in Bathinda city and providing free education to the children. The first Goodwill Mobile School was started in 2006 and this is the 14th school established in Bath,” he added.
A school teacher of school, Sweta Rani, spoke to ANI about the Goodwill Mobile School initiative of providing education to slum children. She said, “Our motive is to provide education to marginalised and poor kids. We also provide refreshment to students and the timings for students is 2-3 and 3-4pm”.
The idea of Goodwill Mobile School to provide basic education to students and further committed to fulfil the mission of ‘imparting knowledge’.
The local people also supported the initiative to make it successful. Many voluntary organisations too supported the mission, helping the teachers but also encouraging the children. The Goodwill Mobile School further plans to expand the initiative after receiving positive responses from communities. The approach has brought significant changes in lives of children, giving new ray of hope and direction to society. (ANI)
