New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): BJP Lok Sabha MP Bansuri Swaraj on Sunday said that the AAP government is responsible for the deaths of three UPSC aspirants due to flooding in the basement at an IAS Coaching Centre in Delhi’s Old Rajendra Nagar.
While addressing a press conference along with BJP Delhi Chief Virendraa Sachdeva in the national capital today, the BJP MP from the North Delhi constituency said, ” MLA Durgesh Pathak and Kerjriwal’s useless government is responsible for the deaths of three students.”
She further questioned the AAP government, saying that the MCD, Delhi Jal Board and other authorities are under the AAP government but still why the drains weren’t cleaned. She further stated that the tragedy could have been easily averted.
“MCD is under the Aam Aadmi Party, and Delhi Jal Board is under the Aam Aadmi Party…cleaning the drains and repairing the roads are all under the Kejriwal government. When the MLA is of AAP, the department is under AAP in that place; why wasn’t the drain cleaned? This was a tragedy that could have been easily averted,” she said.
After the IAS coaching institute tragedy, Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Sunday said that there is a “big conspiracy hatched” against the people of the national capital, alleging that despite giving evidence and complaining of corruption in de-silting, no action was taken against the officers involved by the LG VK Saexna.
The AAP leader said that the work of removing silt from drains and sewers in Delhi was not done properly due to the negligence of officers belonging to different departments including PWD, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Irrigation and Flood Control Department. He said that the government can neither transfer these officers nor take any action against them, only LG VK Saexna can take action.
Speaking on AAP Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj’s allegations, Bansuri Swaraj said, “Is Saurabh Bharadwaj such a small Minister of Delhi? … This issue is not related to transfer posting. If every department is under their rule, why is their focus on the transfer posting of the authorities? …They only make excuses whenever there is talk about Delhi’s development.”
Earlier today, the police identified the victims of the coaching centre incident as Shreya Yadav, a native of Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh; Tanya Soni from Telangana; and Nivin Dalwin, a resident of Kerala’s Ernakulam, DCP Central M Harshavardhan told ANI.
Police have also sent the bodies of the deceased to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML) for an autopsy.
The Delhi Police also arrested the owner and the coordinator of the coaching centre and both of them were sent to 14 days of judicial custody. (ANI)
