Patna (Bihar) [India], November 14 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Kumar Jha expressed confidence in Mahagathbandhan’s victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, saying that the state is heading towards a change.
Manoj Kumar Jha told ANI that the party is going into the day of vote counting with “hopes and expectations.”
“We are with hopes and expectations for Bihar. The state is heading towards a change. Everything will be clear after noon. Change, under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav and Mahagathbandhan,” Manoj Kumar Jha said.
Hitting out at the exit polls claiming NDA’s victory, Jha called poll predictions a “game of capital.”
He said, “I believe the Exit Polls are a game of capital, a game of market, a game of ‘Shehen-Shah’. We do not play that game.”
The majority of the exit polls have predicted the NDA’s victory in the Bihar polls.
Meanwhile, Bihar minister Prem Kumar on Friday said that he is confident that the NDA will form the government again, claiming the alliance will win more than 200 seats.
He said voters supported the NDA because they are satisfied with its development work.
Speaking to ANI in Patna, Prem Kumar said, “The people of Bihar came out to vote in large numbers. NDA will lead on all seats, and the NDA government will be formed again in Bihar. I am confident that the NDA government will win more than 200 seats. The public is very happy with the development works carried out by the NDA government.”
The counting across 243 Assembly constituencies in Bihar began at 8 am on Friday, as security has been heightened at various counting centres.
The security personnel arrived for their election duty at various places, including Patna, Gayaji and several other places. The elections set several records, achieving the highest polling in both phases. The second phase of polling in Bihar saw a record voter turnout of 69.20 per cent, the highest in the state’s history.
The overall polling percentage for the two phases was 67.13 per cent. This is the highest voter turnout recorded in the state since 1951, according to the Election Commission. The first phase saw a voter turnout of 65.06 per cent.
The main electoral contest in the Bihar elections is between the National Democratic Alliance and the Mahagathbandhan.
The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Mahagathbandhan, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal, include Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Dipankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Additionally, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party made its debut in the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls. (ANI)
