New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba on Sunday condemned a series of insults by BJP leaders against the army and their families, attributing these remarks to alleged directives from the party to credit Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘Operation Sindoor’.
During a press briefing, Lamba labelled the BJP as the “Bhadh Juban Party” (Party of Foul Mouth), highlighting specific instances where BJP leaders, including MP Ramchandra Jangra, Minister Vijay Shah, and Deputy CM Jagdish Devda, made derogatory remarks, and demanded a special session of Parliament to address these issues and the security lapses in the Pahalgam terror attack.
“BJP leaders received orders from the top leadership to give the credit of ‘Operation Sindoor’ to Prime Minister Modi. In the race to give credit, the leaders of BJP, ‘Bhadh Juban Party’, lost their temper, forgot their language and started insulting the army. In this sequence, the leaders of the Bhadh Juban Party (BJP) also insulted the army as well as the martyrs and their families,” the Congress Mahila Morcha President stated.
“BJP MP Ramchandra Jangra insults the wives of those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack. BJP MP Ramchandra Jangra says- The wives of those martyred in the Pahalgam attack did not have the spirit of a warrior, did not have enthusiasm, and did not have passion. That is why they were folding their hands and pleading. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh BJP minister Vijay Shah had also insulted the country’s brave daughter, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. At the same time, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda stooped so low in giving credit to the Prime Minister that he insulted the Indian Army,” she added.
She pointed out BJP’s failure to address trolling and insults directed at the wife of the victim of the attack as well as the Foreign Secretary and argued against the lack of action.
By recalling Modi’s statement comparing businessmen to soldiers, Lamba argues that it sets a precedent for devaluing military service, which permeates through the party.
Lamba further criticised the omnipresence of PM Modi’s image in public spaces as part of an alleged credit-grabbing campaign for Operation Sindoor, contrasting it with the party’s failure to address internal misconduct.
“Vinay Narwal ji’s wife was trolled and insulted on social media for her views, but no legal action has been taken yet. Not only this, but the Foreign Secretary was trolled on social media for his statements and his daughters’ numbers were made viral. But still, no action is taken. The strength of BJP leaders to insult the army, soldiers, martyrs and the families of martyrs comes from the history of Narendra Modi himself. Because Narendra Modi himself has said that ‘a businessman has more courage than an army soldier’,” she stated.
“The whole country is covered with hoardings; railway tickets carry Narendra Modi’s photo, giving credit for ‘Operation Sindoor’. Nothing has happened to date regarding the insulting statement of BJP minister Vijay Shah; the police remained silent. The entire party kept protecting him, but who took cognisance – the court. After Vijay Shah, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora, now Ramchandra Jangra has made derogatory comments but he is still in the party. In such a situation, the question is whether there is any morality left in the BJP or not,” she added.
Lamba also put forward the demands of the opposition, stating, “Our demand is: The need of the hour is to call a special session of Parliament. The country should be informed about ‘Operation Sindoor’ in a special session. Tribute should be paid to the martyrs and the army should be patted on the back. The government should also answer the country on the security lapse in Pahalgam. The Government should say when the terrorists of Pahalgam will be caught.” (ANI)
